Volunteer
Make a difference in your community!

In Washington State, 1 out of 5 adults lacked health insurance in 2009.

It is estimated that over 300,000 people in Washington State do not have access to health care. Out-of-pocket health care is extremely expensive, and the cost is so high that many people can’t afford to get the care they so urgently need.

Volunteers like you are critically important!

Without health care professionals and other volunteers, needy individuals and families in Seattle would go without a wide variety of badly needed free health care and spiritual services.

Puget Sound Christian Clinic’s free health care in Seattle is only possible because individuals and groups donate their time, talents and financial resources. Some people provide direct patient care, while many others serve in administrative and supportive roles. Each volunteer position at the Clinic is critical to providing quality, compassionate health care and showing Jesus to the patients we serve.

Ongoing Volunteer Opportunities

Please review these ongoing needs below and think about how you can get involved. You can truly make a difference in the lives of your neighbors simply by giving your time, talents and your finances. And with our Mobile Clinic beginning operations throughout Puget Sound, you can serve right in your own community!

Health Care Providers

Physicians
Physician Assistants
Nurse Practitioners
Nurses
Dentists
Dental Hygienists
Dental Assistants
Pharmacists
Professional Counselors

Generally, our health care providers volunteer for one or two 4-hour shifts per month. With the exception of dental assistants, we require our volunteer providers to be licensed and have malpractice insurance. If you need malpractice insurance, it is available at no cost to you through Western Washington Area Health Education Center (AHEC). If you are retired and your license has not lapsed, AHEC will also pay for your license renewal fee.

Spiritual Care

Spiritual care volunteers serve one or two 4-hour shifts per month. Their responsibilities include showing Christ’s love to patients by praying with and for them, answering their questions, connecting patients with other social service agencies within our community when possible, and occasionally following up with patients via phone during the week.

Office/Support Workers

Our office and support volunteers perform data entry, answer phones, assist with mailings, schedule volunteers to serve, and many other tasks essential to keeping our Clinic open.

IT Support

Please contact lynng@pschristianclinic.org to learn more!

Development Support

We have an ongoing need for assistance and help in our fundraising efforts.  The responsibilities range from helping out at our events to data entry and gift processing for our donations.  Please contact edwards@pschristianclinic.org to learn more!

Cooks

Our volunteers who serve at Puget Sound Christian Clinic or our Mobile Clinic often need a meal or snack during their shift to keep them going strong. We need volunteers who would be willing to provide meals or snacks for 10-12 volunteers and staff at least once each quarter.

Prayer Support

We believe that PSCC is sustained through prayer. We deeply appreciate the support of those who pray for our patients, staff and volunteers.

Please contact us today! We will be happy to show you around the Clinic and discuss your gifts and talents, so that you can make a difference in the lives of low-income uninsured families in our community.
